Portrait final piece propsal
After looking through my work and the photographers I've looked at like I have decided to further my work with lighting and mood and so on. However I'm going to mix in skills I have learnt like pinhole photography and self-portraits and others to improve my photography. I will take inspiration from Photographers Bill Armstrong and Travis Commeau; I will use their ideas and type of photography and interpret it in my own. For instance, Commeau uses blur to represent sort-sightedness I could use blur to represent someone who wears glasses or is really camera shy. Armstrong has long exposure times in his portraits I could use this to represent someone who is very anti-social. This will make an interesting set of photos because it will have lots of different styles and it will be very interesting to see what comes from post-processing.
In my final piece I’m planning to take something between 60-70 photos of different people from both school and outside of school. I’m going to use different lighting and props. I am going to carrying on with different lighting because in my previous sets it worked really well and now I hope to change the color of the lighting to affect the mood of the people or the photo itself. I’m going to introduce props because I want to represent people’s insecurities or characteristics. I'm going to take photos of family and friends outside of school to add more people into my sets instead of it being repetitive and dull. After I take my photos I'm going to do lots of post-processing to the photos and change things like the curves, hue/saturation, levels, exposure and so on.
Prep work
These are the photos I have taken for my final piece and out of these I'm going to pick 3 and post-process them. I'm only picking 3 because I don't feel like all of them are up to the standard I want them to be at and photo shopping some of them wouldn't make such a difference because of that standard. I want to use photos that show what I was talking about in my proposal.
