JImmy nelson
Jimmy Nelson is a British Photographer he was born in Sevenoaks,Kent. He spent his childhood in Africa,Asia and South America. At the age 8 he was sent to Stonyhurst Collage in Lancashire because his parents had to work abroad .Unfortunately, at the age of 16 due to a stress related reaction to illness and antibiotics Jimmy Nelson developed Alopecia totals which caused all his hair to fall off.
This is one of my favourite photos because it combines rural tribes in places like Tibet, Africa and places like that with urban weapons like the AK-47 that he is carrying. I'm going to use this kind of thing in my photography combing rural things like flowers animals ect with people and urban places.
This is one I don't like a lot because even though it shows character of the person its very bland and boring. The persons pose isn't interesting either it's very dull and unnatural what i mean by this is he doesn't like what he has to do.

This is also another favourite because its full of warm colors and it's full of character. This is going to be something I'm going to experiment with by using colour to show someones mood or characteristics.
This is in my opinion the best one because it's using the location and the way they dress to show you their life story through just a photo. As well as that it's a high-key photo which means its got little or no dark content. I will use the idea of using the way someone dresses and the location to show their life story.

elliot erwitt
Elliot Erwitt was born in 1928 on the 26th July in Paris, France. Erwitt's parents were Jewish-Russian immigrants when they had him in Paris. In 1939 when he was ten they moved to the United States where he went on to study photography and filmmaking at Los Angeles City College. He finished his education in 1950.
In all of these photos Elliot Erwitt uses reflections and composition to make his photos stand out as well as that all of his photos are in black and white. The reason I'm using Elliot Erwitt as another inspiration is because he has some similar ideas like mine to use mirrors and cracks in mirrors to create wired but wonderful photographs.
My favourite photo out of this is the one at the end because its been distorted without photoshop or anything else but a glass of water. This is my favourite because it is a photo that makes you think and it makes you feel weirded out yet it also makes you wonder how he did it. As well as that he also uses reflections to make perspective the key thing here, if you look at the reflection it looks like a hideous freak but if you look at the actual woman you can see its just a glass of what in front of her face.
My least favourite photo out of these is the third one because the photo features more of the landscape than a portrait. As well as this the photo looks fake the mirror is to much in focus when compared to the space around it .Furthermore the photo makes me feel no emotion because it's dull and boring despite the fact the main theme is romance

James Nachtwey is an American Photojurnalsit born in Syracuse,New York in 1948 om 14th March. He grew up in Massachusetts and graduated Dartmouth College where he studied Art History and Polictical Science. He began Photogrpahy in 1980 as a freelance photographer. His photos of war are going to help my photos bcause in his he shows the emotion and story of people in front of the camera. In one of my next sets I'm going to show someones story through the clohts they wear and how clean/dirty they are.
Bill Armstrong
Bill Armstrong is a New York based fine art photographer. He is going to be the inspiration for my photos in my final piece. I like his work because he uses very vibrant colors in the background and uses people’s outlines to show them off. I could use the outline part of the photographs to show people who are shy and the colors in the background to show their mood or feelings.
NIcola Dove
Nicola Dove is a UK based photographer specializing in portraits and filmstills. I’m going to use examples of her photography as inspiration for my final piece, slightly shaking it to cause a sort of blur effect. I can apply this to my work by adding slight blur to my photos to show someone who isn’t very social or isn’t very noticeable.
travis commeau (myopic)
Travis Commeau is a portrait photographer who uses blur to represent his sort-sightedness. From the examples that I’ve seen I have decided to use Commeau as another inspiration for my final piece. I’m going to use his idea of using blur to show his bad eye sight and use it show someone who wears glasses or contact lenses.
